We reserve the right to cancel or alter any service, tour or price at any time.

We do not accept responsibility or liability of any nature for any losses that you may sustain as a result of such unauthorised access or alteration. All information transmitted to you or from you is transmitted at your risk, and you assume all responsibility and risks arising in relation to your use of this Website and the internet. We do not accept responsibility for any interference or damage to your own computer system which may arise in connection with your accessing of this Website or any outbound hyperlink.

All payments are processed via DPS, DPS is committed to data security. DPS uses a variety of technologies and procedures to help protect personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. For example, DPS stores the data in computer servers with limited access that are located in controlled facilities secured by the latest in surveillance and security technology. When DPS transmits sensitive information (such as credit card numbers), DPS protects it through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. Credit card details stored onsite are encrypted using 168bit 3DES encryption. DPS is a level 1 certified PCI-DSS compliant provider:

PCI DSS
PCI DSS, the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard is a set of security requirements relating to the protection of card holder data. The standard is governed by the PCI Security Standards Council, an organisation put together by most of the major card schemes VISA, MasterCard, American Express, JCB and Discover. It's relevant for any entity that stores or transmits sensitive card holder data, that being generally things like the PAN (card number), Card security code, track data, PIN block. The current version of the standard is Version 1.2. Preceding PCI-DSS the card schemes had their own standards, the VISA Account Information Security (AIS) standard formed the basis to most of the PCI-DSS requirements".

These terms of use are governed by the laws of New Zealand and the courts of New Zealand shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction to hear and determine any dispute arising in relation to these terms of use. General Data Protection Rules (GDPR)

  • Withdraw consent. You have the right to notify us that you no longer want us to process or use your personal data. You can do that by contacting info@horizontours.co.nz.

  • Right to data portability. You have the right to obtain a copy of any personal data stored and processed by us and you may direct us to transfer your personal data to another controller via csv format.

  • Right to erasure/right to be forgotten. You have the right to request that any of your personal data is deleted from our records. Please note that while we can delete your personal data from our current records, data may be stored in inactive and archived records and will be deleted. In some cases, your personal data may continue to be stored in archived records of transactions or activities where Horizon Tours is required by law to retain such records.

  • Right to restriction of processing. You may request that Horizon Tours restrict the processing of your personal data. This may affect your ability to use or navigate some of our customer services.


Accommodation and Activities
Changes to accommodation or activities that differ from those advertised may occur from time to time due to unforeseen circumstances. Any changes to accommodation or activities will be of a similar or greater standard and value.

Route
Weather conditions, road closure or other unforeseen circumstances may, from time to time, cause a detour to the advertised route. 

Unaccompanied children
Children / teenagers 15 years and under booked on any tour must be accompanied on tour by a paying, responsible adult relative. 

Cancellations & Refunds

At Horizon Tours, we are family first and foremost and know that despite the best intentions, things can happen.

If you need to make a change to your booking, please contact us on info@horizontours.co.nz and we will accommodate your request when we can.  Remember to include your booking number to expedite your request.

Any request to change the booking must be made at least forty-eight (48) hours before your original scheduled time, and all change requests are subject to availability.

In purchasing a tour with Horizon Tours you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

  • A full refund will be paid if you cancel your trip at least a week in advance of your booking.

  • Cancellations made within a week, and more than forty-eight (48) hours of your booking will receive a 50% refund of the tour cost.

  • Cancellation requests received less than forty-eight (48) hours of the tour will not be refunded.

  • Refunds will not be paid if you do not arrive at the pre-arranged meeting points at the correct time.

  • A small portion of your booking fee may be withheld to cover 3rd party charges and associated costs. This portion shall be reference as Cancellation fee. See specific tours below where this cancellation fee applies.


For those who have purchased a Southern Skies Stargazing tour:

  • A full refund, minus cancellation fee, will be paid should your tour be cancelled due to bad weather. 

  • Refunds will not be paid if you do not arrive at the pre-arranged meeting points at the correct time.


For those who have purchased a Cruise Ship Shore excursion:

  • A refund will be issued should your ship be unable to dock on the day of the tour. In this situation, a small cancellation fee of no more than 10% may be withheld, which will be used to (part) cover operational expenses.

  • Refunds will not be paid if you do not arrive at the pre-arranged meeting points at the correct time.


For those who have purchased a Celestial Dunedin Accommodation Package:
Cancellations of the Celestial Accommodation and Stargazing Package are permitted up to 2pm, one day prior to arrival. If notification is received after this time, a cancellation fee of $400 for each room booked will be charged. This package is subject to availability and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Bookings are essential, and booking fees and surcharges may apply. Further limit and conditions may apply including but not limited to black out dates, and weather restrictions.

All other circumstances will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
